mark and jodi 27th october 2007

we begin jodi and mark's day of celebration at the lighthouse beach resort - where all of marks family, who travelled from the eastern states, were staying. jodi and mark, although they reside in Melbourne, decided to return to Bunbury to marry in jodi's parents beautiful garden. another dark and stormy day - we were nearly blown off the hill at the lighthouse. here is a quick shot of all the family crew saying "good morning" to the photographers!

here is marks dad, charlie - a quietly spoken, extremely happy fellow...

and marks mum, judy - who has enchanting eyes...

we then proceed to the garden of barry and cheryl, jodi's parents - an amazing couple, who dedicated months and months of hard work to ensure their garden was perfect for the wedding of their only daughter...heres bazza doing the dishes as we arrive...

we then wander to the rear of the home and are totally amazed as we enter a magical, romantic garden...absolutely beautiful - even with howling winds and an immenient storm...

we stumble across the gorgeous bouquets..

and then the shiny rings

and low and behold - a stunning bride! jodi works in the male-dominated shipping industry and i can guarantee that no bloke in her office has ever seen jodi looking this damn fine...

then the rain started...just as the perfectly timed arrival tune began - so we waited patiently inside the home - with curtains drawn - to see if the rain would cease...it didnt; but i found these delectable cupcakes a neighbour had donated for the younger nieces and nephews to devour...

an anxious barry - wondering if the rain will ever stop...

an anxious jodi - wondering how long her perfectly timed song will play in the rain before she is able to see her handsome groom...

the decision is made - "lets do this" and so we exit the home, only to be met by heavier rain!

improvise! - out come the brollys - here is handsome mark - all overcome with emotion at seeing jodi for the first time

cheryl also holding back the tears...

but after only a few minutes - the rain cleared and rays of dazzling afternoon sun streaked through the trees to shine warm, loving light on the nuptials...

the rain returned as we headed off for photos - and with it came a freezing cold wind - that ripped through wedding attire like ice...so we sought locations that were protected and came across the inviting benesse coffee lounge in victoria street - awesome location and lovely staff...thank you ladies!

meet pete the sparkie, marks younger brother and the best man...quite the GQ model don't you think?

and gorgeous dannii - jodi's lifelong best friend, talented english teacher and mum to delightful baby lily - who i could not resist posting an image of later...

jodi was quite chuffed when we told her she looked like a supermodel in this image..

this image shows the softer side of mark, the sportsman and all-round "blokes bloke" - and we sprung him holding the bouquet!

a few more images in an alley protected from the wind - mike was being run over as this image was being shot - trying his damdest to shoot the winning shot of the day...

then another sheltered spot was found - we actually convinced danni to take off the best mans jacket!...kudos to the small business that didnt lock their gates for the weekend and who planted little green trees next to this bright red wall!

jodi and mark had their hearts set on sunset photos at dayellup beach - so we braved the wind, which was now planting little icicles on everyones eyelashes and set off for some dramatic beach and sky images...i kept reminding jodi and mark to "look warm - it will make an amazing image"...but i dont think they could hear me over the roar...

bazza and chezza also spent hours decorating the local hall for the reception, with the help of charlie and jude and the rest of the family - and as we entered we again blown away by the magic of the candles and flowers and the obvious devotion these two lovely parents have for their daughter and son...

HUGE eagles fans - all the tables were named after eagles players - worsfold, kerr, glass, cousins etc with many a humourous reference made during the speeches...

i remember seeing delicate ribbon roses in primary school - they are still as lovely here on the yummy yummy chocolate cake...

here is the promised image of baby lily with her cute mum and dad - mike and i decided lily's dad looks exactly like the doctor from greys anatomy...but we think lily's dad is much nicer...

jodi's turn for tears during the funny, sad and heartfelt speeches...

time for a dance under the disco lights...

and to finish off - here a few shots of marks lifelong basketball team mates - who made the trip from melbourne also - just to show us what the cutlery and glassware is used for if you are a melbournian...enjoy

thank you jodi and mark for inviting us to share this day with you. you two fit so well together and we are sure your deep friendship and love will carry you through many more adventures...it was so wonderful to see two people so mad about each other! barry and cheryl - thank you for continously treating us as guests - your kindness was most appreciated...
comp update : kylie concedes defeat, mike definately kicked ass with the incredible beach shots...
